COMMENTS & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

K7ALO Single-Operator Portable CN85: From Southfork mountain at 4,800FT CN85,

KX7L Single-Operator 3-Band CN87: Interesting contest - no Es to speak of - I just heard the tail end of an opening to CA Sunday morning, but showed up too late to work anyone.  Still, worked at least one new grid (CN94), and more Portland stations than usual, thanks to FT8.  As others will no doubt note, much confusion about WSJT "Contest-mode" at the beginning of the contest.  Thanks for the QSOs!

AF7MD Single-Operator Low Power CN85: The new FT8 VHF contest mode is good, but confusing this time since half the operators didn't know about it. Lots of drawn out QSOs as the contest and non-contest mode tried to negotiate with each other.

Worst conditions I have ever seen.  We had NO Es contacts on 6M at all!! Our only bright spot was 2M.  We ran MSK144 on 6M, 2M, and 222 to scrape up as many grids as possible.  This probably helped our 2M grid count, as most of those distant grids we normally don't get.

ALIVE/R Limited Rover activated CN95 DN04 DN05: CONTEST WITH NO OPENINGS MADE FOR VERY SLOW CONTEST. WORKED ABOUT EVERYONE I COULD HEAR, JUST NOT THAT MANY ON, ESPECIALLY SUNDAY.

K7BWH Single-Operator Low Power CN87: It felt good to be in my first SSB contest since moving house. The hard part was finding all the boxes and gear to assemble the portable station in my driveway. The fun part was operating my new (used) IC-9100 in the back of my 4Runner. I discovered that an upgrade to my portable 13.8 supply will be required for full transmitter power. Although I operated 'portable' and 6-meter only, my category is 'fixed' because my 50w power exceeded the portable limit.

VE7AFZ/R Unlimited Rover activated CN89 CN99 CO80.

K7SMA Single-Operator Low Power CN85:
