Soapbox Comments
KA7RRA/R:
Activated 3 PNW grids: CN86, CN87, CN88, CN98
Worked 3 PNW grids: CN87, CN88, CN97
Well, I kind of messed up a bit. I worked in 3 grids CN87 CN88 CN98.
I got to work a small 6-meter opening, WD0T in CN94 I finished with 1056 total points.
It was about 6-7 when I got done with CN98, I was heading up to Green Mountain,
but the forest service had the road closed, so I had to go up to Mt Pilchuck, and
they redid the road!!! It's very nice and paved most of the way to the top and
they got rid of all the car-eating chuck holes SO I well be going back to Mt Pilchuck
since the road is redone.
After I got off of Mt Pilchuck, I went on the Mountain Loop Highway to where
the road splits off to go to Darrington, I was thinking that the contest ended
at 5pm on Sunday and I could do to CN97 and collect that grid. However, I looked at
the rules and the contest was over at 5am Sunday. So I missed it.
That was weird hours for the contest, 5am to 5am?? According to the CQ web
site the contest for 2026 is going to start on Saturday July 4th. Also weird.
It was fun, I had a good time, started at 830am.
I should have just slept in and started it around 11 or 12.
